April is designated as the Month of the Military Child; a time to honor the sacrifices made by military families worldwide, and celebrate the contributions and unique needs of every military child, youth, teen, and military parent. This year, the Month of the Military Child will focus on supporting the mental health and overall well-being of children of all ages. Throughout the month, schools and community leaders worldwide are encouraged to honor military children with special events. The events will stress the importance of providing children with quality services and support to help them succeed and mitigate the demands of military life experienced by parents, children and youth.
As part of the month-long celebration, communities worldwide are invited to take part in Purple Up! For Military Kids. Wearing purple is a visible way to show support and thank military children for their strength and sacrifices.
