Directions: As an administrator, you will likely lead the on-the-ground response immediately following an incident of sexual behavior. Use the following guide to help ensure appropriate supervision and support. Consider how your responses might change based on the kind of sexual behavior displayed.

Immediately following behavior:

  1. Ensure that all children are safe and staff members use line-of-sight supervision practices for all children involved until you have more information about the behavior or incident. 
  2. Speak with children and staff members as appropriate to gather additional information about the behavior. Use resources in this course and available to your program to consider the factors involved to decide whether or not the behavior is normative.
