Anatomical female: Individual with the external genitals and internal reproductive organs of a female at birth

Anatomical male: Individual with the external genitals and internal reproductive organs of a male at birth

Anus: Opening to the rectum

Areola Pigmented: Circular tissue surrounding the nipple

Breasts: Tissue at the front of the chest

Genitalia/Genitals: External reproduction organs

Labia: Folds of skin around vaginal opening

Masturbation: See “self-stimulation”

Menstrual period: Process in which an anatomical female discharges blood from the uterus from puberty until menopause, except during pregnancy

Mons pubis: Area of flesh above vulva

Nipple: Tissue projection on the surface of the breast

Penis: External sex organ of the anatomical male body

Puberty: When adolescents reach sexual maturity and are capable of reproduction

Rectum: End part of the large intestine that leads to the anus

Scrotum: External part of the anatomical male body that holds the testicles

Self-stimulation: Touching and arousing one’s genitals for pleasure, commonly referred to as masturbation

Semen: Whitish liquid containing sperm produced by anatomical males

Testicles: Ball-like glands inside the scrotum that make sperm and hormones for anatomical males

Urethra: Small hole that urine or pee comes out of Vulva External genitalia for anatomical females, includes labia and other external parts
